The Dolphin is an internal-battery mod, but don’t let its toy-like appearance fool you: contained within a sturdy aluminum housing, the battery packs an impressive 2100 mAh, which will get even a steady vaper through most of the day before needing to recharge. (Of course, you’ll know if you need to as the device has a simple 5-dot battery indicator right below the fire button.) The Dolphin also belies its appearance by pumping an impressive 50 watts through its coils at peak voltage. In contrast to these surprising features, however, the Dolphin does live up to its expectations as an easy-to-use piece of equipment: it features a mouthpiece, an airflow inlet, a fire button, a battery-life indicator, and a micro-USB port.
Beyond the surprises of its outward appearance, the Dolphin boasts a sophisticated interior design. E-juice is contained within the 6 mL removable cartridge (sidenote: amazing capacity for any device!), which is made of eco-friendly silicon and PETG. As for how the juice reaches its intended vapour state, the special ceramic coil may be found in the bottom of the cartridge. Known as a Juice Vertical Injection Coil (JVIC), it pulls air into the device through the airflow inlet and juice down from the cartridge above into one superheated space. As the juice is heated up and the air travels through, the resulting vapour is directed up into the mouthpiece. Of course, not every vaper likes the same kind of hit, so Joyetech has courteously provided two different coils with the mod: a 1.2 Ω coil for that mouth-to-lung tightness, and a 0.25 Ω for that direct-to-lung blast. Either way, you’re bound to be satisfied with the Dolphin.
