Description
The nose is full of fine, fresh and juicy strawberry-in-the-punnet notes, with just a hint of cream – it would make a perfect pairing to strawberries and cream at Wimbledon. There’s a herbal top-note of wild oregano with a touch of tarragon, keeping everything savoury: despite the freshness of the fruit, there’s nothing overly sweet here. The palate is very crisp and vibrant, reflecting how recently this was bottled. It’s a wine fizzing with energy, and has a real sherbet zing on the tongue. It’s clear why this is being called a Riesling Rosé in Germany: it has a laser-sharp freshness, with a pink grapefruit twist to it. This is totally dry and refreshingly sharp, with a sour, fresh cranberry tang on the finish. This is 100% my kind of rosé.Catriona Felstead MW, Senior Buyer, Berry Bros. & Rudd
