Description
This is a blend of two of his Barbaresco vineyards. In Currà, Francesco owns 0.30 hectares and rents a further 0.35 hectares, and he owns another 0.30 hectares in Starderi. The sandier soils of Currà give a sunny disposition, while Starderi lends minerality, depth and tighter tannins. Vinification takes place between steel, Stockinger botti and a custom-made concrete tank (built to fit in his parents’ garage). Both parcels have the potential to be Barbaresco but Francesco still feels the vines are too young. But the wine gets closer in style to a Barbaresco every year. The result is a classical yet contemporary Nebbiolo, fusing playful fruit and intellectual site expression.Berry Bros. & Rudd
