Description
Just the fruit from “Parcel 151” is used here, coming from 80-year-old vines, and the rest of the production from the 2.4 hectares is used in the Treturne. Although not far from Fogliati’s Pugnane parcel, this is a very different wine and clearly shows a Monforte style, even though the vineyard is on a slender finger of land sandwiched between the communes of Castiglione Falletto and Barolo. The bouquet is heady and creamy, while the rich, dark palate is black-fruit accented, even suggesting mulberry. Yet the Fogliati style triumphs; the finish remains buoyant and energetic.Berry Bros. & Rudd
