Of course, this is one of the great vineyards of Barolo and is the jewel in Alessandro’s range. It has been offered only as a Riserva since the 2016 vintage. The sunny generosity of the 2018 vintage is well to the fore in this example, but the extra maturation before its release has integrated the firmer tannic style of the year, and the wine is now very fine indeed. There is more detail than in the very expressive 2017, and its composure is absolutely indicative of the greater confidence that one finds in this cantina at every visit.Mark Pardoe MW, Wine Director, Berry Bros. & Rudd
